Dating back to 1904 as one of the first car shops in Detroit, this incredible 2,050-square-foot space was transformed into a modern private residence with two bedrooms after a top-to-bottom re-build, including new systems, roof, walls, floor and the creative use of interesting, reused materials like tin ceilings in the bathrooms, slider doors from a local 1955 Detroit Stroh’s delivery truck; and rescued brick found stacked outside the building. The beautiful high-end, high-tech entertaining kitchen–that fits 30 people around the main island–features endless list of thoughtful details, from a custom faucet with touchless sensors to a drainboard carved directly into the granite, as well as an imaginative island that doubles as a shuffle-board court when you remove the wood countertop (need to see it to believe it).
