Ryan Cooley, the sole proprietor of O’Connor Realty, has teamed up his brother, Phillip Cooley, to bring a broad scope of design and construction services to the Development side of the business.

Slows Bar BQ and Apartments
Their first project was the gut-rehab and build-out of three abandoned storefronts on the corner block of Michigan and 12 th Avenues, which now houses Slows Bar BQ and O’Connor Realty, with four apartments on the second floor. Project Completed: August 2005.

Eastern Market Candy Company Lofts, 1528 Gratiot St.
O’Connor is leading the development of the 1920’s Detroit Candy Co.—a four-story building with each floor dedicated to an exposed, 1,500-square-foot rental loft. Adhering to a decidedly modern aesthetic, the two-bedroom, two-bathroom loft units will feature hardwood floors, brick walls, exposed cedar ceiling beams, and central air, while building highlights include a private-entrance elevator and rooftop deck. Project Completion: Target September 2006

Grinnell Place Lofts, 2003 Brooklyn St., Detroit
O’Connor Development is a minority partner of the Grinnell Place Lofts Development Team, which also includes North American Real Estate Development and ECM Development. This 34-unit loft building in Corktown, originally a 1920’s piano factory, features gourmet kitchens, soaring ceilings (up to 14 feet tall) and dramatic views of Downtown. Please see www.grinnellplace.com for more info. Project Completion: Target Summer 2006

2120-2124 Michigan Avenue Buildings
Currently in the works: Two historical buildings on Michigan Avenue being renovated for commercial storefront spaces, with modern residential rentals upstairs.
